- The Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley Created this Tree of life from broken bits and pieces of pottery, dishes and other broken treasures from our daily lives. There are also mementos of loved ones. A watch, a medal…tags from long gone pets. There is a whole set of little ceramic dolls and animals. I brought a tiny deer with a broken ear that my daughter once couldn’t live without but had long forgotten.
We brought all these things as offering during a service dedicated to the idea that we are each broken but together we can be made whole. Over the next several weeks an artist worked with us to create mosaic leaves.

What a beautiful event and beautiful heartfelt sentiment, I am so touched. Thank you for sharing, my heart is all warm and fuzzy now!
