“Light in the Forest” I thought to myself as I walked through home of the Giant Redwoods Muir Woods yesterday. A perfect mix of cool coastal fog, and filtered sunlight nourishes these ancestor trees standing for centuries.Protected for only 100 years. They speak words of light and air wisdom and patients if we stand still and listen.
Worlds Tallest Tree from NPR With Beautiful Video of climbing it.

Beautiful photos, Carol, and I loved the video! (great music) Your title reminds me of a favorite book “The Light in the Forest” by Conrad Richter. A novel based on actual events here in western PA – here’s a link to it in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Light_in_the_Forest
Looking forward to more photos!
You got me I was thinking of that book, too. I remember reading it in Junior high. So Glad you watched the video. I’ll have to watch it again with the speakers plugged in thanks for the heads up and link.
I re-read the book last year, still captured my imagination, especially since it took place right in this area. Oh yes, watch the video with the music; ethereal
Now I wonder why I thought Light In The Forest took place in Florida? It is so good to learn something new. Thanks
This is someplace I have always wanted to visit. Thanks for these great photos.
Ok now I’m convinced I’m going to turn our daughter’s room into a B&B for My WordPress friends.
More Photos to come
Muir Woods is a 45 min. drive from my computer
I’m so looking forward to being in the midst of these guardian trees.
Great! Please let me know when you are near. I truly would love to see more of you than your lovely tiny Gravitar face, Carol
How absolutely beautiful! I’m getting lost in your photos and words, it is such a lovely journey. I am grateful our paths have crossed, my life is all the richer. Thank you.
I would not be doing this except for people like you…amazing how we create these twining paths. So glad you passed my way,
Carol
