Wooded Path in Berkeley CA  near the place I where I was Married in 1986.

“When You get to the fork in the road take it.” Yogi Berra

“You take the high road and I’ll take the low road and I’ll get to Scotland before ye”

‘Two road diverged in the yellow wood/ and I took the one least traveled by/ and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost

“I’ve never been out of Woods County (Oklahoma) my whole life. Why do you want to go to California with all those dirty Hippies?”  Old man I served a Blue Plate Special to at a long forgotten Alva Diner in the summer of 1968.

Worked at the diner for gas money

so’s my old Ford

could get me to the Golden State.

If a Model T was good enough for

my Okie Grandparents

escapin’ the Dust Bowl

A 10 year old Fairlane

 was good enough for me.

Wearin’  the same white polyester uniform day after day,

takin’ home left over banana cream pie for dinner

was just as stifling as breathing shame and eating dirt.

I got out and never looked back!

Thanks Old Man At The Counter

for showing me the two roads,

and that made all the difference.
