As long as I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area it has always struck me as a betwixt and between area. Having two distinct sides San Francisco in the West and then where I live the East Bay with a great bay in between the two. Water and earth, big city and small towns all coming together to create a grand place to live.

    • I’m in Albany so that’s where I measure from. But cool idea I was just thinking of the Bridge as a sundial. There is an actual sundial on a hill at Caesar Chavez park in the Berkeley Marina. Thanks Allen

      • During the GGB’s 75th Anniversary celebrations there were mirrors installed on the top of each tower and people could send in a location/date/time of day for the mirrors to rotate and reflect the sun—making the towers appear to have candle flames atop each side from that point-of-view.
