The candles reminded me fondly of my last trip to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. What a beautiful place and they have devotional candles all over.

The candles are from our Unitarian Church’s Christmas service. Opposite end of the spectrum from a Basilica but I expect just as moving.

I’m with Cee on this one, Carol. The photo of the Labyrinth is wonderful.
The abundance of curves, arcs and circles softens the straight lines of the building’s interior.

Every year after we lay down the labyrinth I try to get a photo. That year those lanterns added an extra curve. You are so right that building does need a lot of softening. Yea curves and arches.
